3 Weeks Old

Gideon is now 3 weeks old. He is growing like a weed! At 2.5 weeks he was up to 10 lb, 1 oz. He eats well! The kids are starting to show more interest in him, especially Caleb. He loves to hold Gideon and smother him with hugs and kisses. We're enjoying Grandma's visit and Heidi is starting to feel much better.

Heidi's parents have given their grandchildren a cedar chest when they've been born. The chest is handmade by Heidi's father's cousin. Here's Gideon posing in his new cedar chest.

Rebecca's Visit

Josh's sister, Rebecca, came to help us in our first week at home. She was a huge help with Eliyana and Caleb. She and Heidi Verbrugge kept the kids occupied while we adjusted to a newborn in the home.

First Week

Gideon is doing well and finally getting over the jaundice. He's been a happy, easy baby so far. We are hoping that continues. Here are some pictures from his first week at home.

Day 8

Introducing Gideon Erez Van Ee

Born November 5 at 3:11 AM. Heidi gave her best effort with 3 hours of pushing but he ended up being born by C-section. Weighing 8 lbs, 14 oz and measuring 21 inches long Heidi's doctor was amazed he had been concerned the baby was measuring small during the pregnancy. We stayed an extra night in the hospital while Gideon was treated with lights for his jaundice.
