Summer and Lake Tahoe Vacation

So summer is here and we have been enjoying it already. Matthew made it back to Nigeria safely and we are getting used to having the extra room in our house. The day after school ended for Eliyana, she and Caleb flew up to Yreka, CA to spend a week with Josh's parents. They attended VBS at church up there and thoroughly enjoyed the time. Caleb also made his first trip to the emergency room to get a fish hook removed from his lip! While the older children were away, I had our upstairs ceiling popcorn removed and re-textured then I spent a few nights painting the ceilings.

Then we met the children and Josh's parents at Lake Tahoe to spend a week of vacation there. We had a good time and enjoyed getting into the mountains and smelling the pine trees. I have a couple pictures posted here, but if you want to view the full album check cut and paste this address:

My project since returning home has been to paint Eliyana's new bedroom (where Matthew was staying this past year). It is now "Sleeping Beauty Pink" and "Enchanted Princess" colors. Eliyana loves her new room and the break she can get from her brothers. Caleb also got to move to the top bunkbed in preparation for Gideon moving into the room with him once Gideon is ready for a real bed.

Yesterday we spent the afternoon and evening at my Aunt Becky and Uncle Jimmy's home in San Diego and also with my Aunt Phyllis and Uncle Andy who were visiting southern California. John, Debbie and Aileen were also there. I forgot to bring my camera, so you'll need to check out Aunt Phyllis's blog for some pictures.
