Fire Storm 2007

Wow, what a week! We were evacuated from our neighborhood on Monday afternoon. We weren't expecting that. After discussing earlier if we should prepare for an evacuation, we decided we were most likely safe in our neighborhood. The cops came through with sirens and loudspeakers and told us to move out quickly. We spent 3 nights in Tierrasanta at the Verbrugge's house. When we got home on Thursday morning we found a big mess outside our home. Lots of ash and debris. It will be a cleanup weekend for us! One house in our neighborhood was destroyed by the fires. It seemed very random and was at least 1 mile from the fire's front line. It's amazing how far the wind can carry an ember.
