Last weeks with Matthew

I guess I have a lot of catching up to do on our blog. May is a busy month for us and probably always will be as it is the end of the Westminster school year and there are many functions to attend. After the last day of classes we took Matthew ice skating for his first time ever. It was very difficult for him, but he was happy for the experience of ice. Eliyana has learned to skate after only 2 times.

Caleb is still learning but enjoys it. They have PVC frames that little kids can use to help support them as they learn to skate.

Here is Matthew. He was just happy that he didn't fall when he stood without holding onto the wall for the picture!

Memorial Day weekend we decided to do a fun project for the kids . . . build them a tree house. Here are the progress pictures until the almost final product. We added a draw bridge to get into the tree house since the tree is located halfway down a steep slope. We still need to figure out how to attach the ropes/pulley system so the kids can bring up the draw bridge when they are in it. And we are already planning a small second story (crow's nest) sometime in the future.

This Saturday was Matthew's graduation from Westminster Seminary California. He was happy to finish, but honestly more excited about his trip home (he leaves on Wednesday) than the actual graduation ceremony. Here he is with his Hebrew/Old Testament Professor.

Today we went to a sister church in Oceanside where Matthew gave a Sunday school presentation on the state of the reformed church in Nigeria. The church is right off the ocean so the kids especially enjoyed seeing the ocean.

Yesterday afternoon we had a graduation party/Open House for Matthew and 2 other graduates from our church. We had about 60 people come through the house. It was a busy day and now it is time for a Sunday afternoon nap!

It was so good to hear from you again. I miss hearing from you. I lots of pics of John and Andrea and when I learn how to put them on Kodak you will get to see them. Your kids are growing so much. It's just good to hear from you again. Grandma

Hey you guys. That is sooo kool-building a tree house for the children. I cannot bring myself to call them "kids". My father said kids were goats!! I am sure the children are thrilled with their tree house. Your house will seem empty without Mathew. But I am sure he is happy to be home with his wife & family. The skating outing looks like all had a great time.
